While serving as Chief of Police in Simpsonville, Keith Grounsell helped make the dream of six-year-old Peyton, a child battling Stage 4 cancer, become a reality by swearing him in as an honorary police officer. While serving as Chief of Police in Simpsonville, Keith Grounsell established the Reserve Police Officer Chaplain Program to provide support for officers, crime victims, families, and community members during times of crisis. Firearms Detection K-9 Program
Under Chief Keith Grounsell’s leadership, the Laurens Police Department partnered with Laurens District 55 to introduce one of the region’s first firearms detection K-9s. After responding to a neighborhood complaint about children playing in the street and loud noise, Chief Keith Grounsell and the Laurens Police Department turned the interaction into a positive community engagement opportunity.
